Fr. John Pallard

 

On April 19, 1945, John Joseph Pallard entered the world in Scranton, PA. He and his family relocated to Washington, DC in 1959. From there, he entered the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. After his ordination on May 20, 1972, Father John began 24 years of ministry in high school education. During these years of service, he taught religion and developmental reading, moderated student councils, managed the school bookstore, directed the office of finances and financial projects, moderated the racquetball club and taught racquetball, organized the liturgical music groups, chaired the religion department, coached the tennis team, and served as Chaplain and Principal. In conjunction with his school ministry, he co-authored a religion text for high school entitled: “The Church’s Social Mission.” 

In addition to these activities, Father John planned and implemented a variety of retreats for youth and adults. In 1997, Father was assigned to the Palm Beach Diocese. Prior to coming to St. Barnabas, Father John served as a parochial vicar, Director of Evangelization for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach, and Missioner to the Coventry area. He, and his wife, Erin, were received into The Episcopal Church on October 9, 2008

Father John Pallard’s educational background includes the following: BA in philosophy (Oblate College), MA in theology (Oblate College), MRE (Fairfield University), MSEd (Niagara University), ED.D (Boston College). He is certified as a secondary school principal and social studies teacher, and a specialist in educational administration and instructional supervision.

                His hobbies include racquetball, guitar, decoupage, science fiction (books and movies), photography, and walking/jogging.
